These dyes cross the cell membranes of dead cells, and react with free amines in the cytoplasm. Questions? Comments? I’d love to talk more about my favorite weapon. Abstract Amine-reactive dyes, also known as LIVE/DEAD fixable dead cell stains, are a class of viability dyes suitable for identifying dead cells in samples that will be fixed. Make your first one or two swings against air, grapple, and land that third hit for the AoE burst. It is, again, off-color, but the damage bonus is hefty even without a focused investment on brutality, and the added short stun is a bonus. There is a special case to be made for grappling hook. Carrying two shields (off-hand and Armadillopack) is not a terrible choice. Your off-hand, as usual, should be a shield. will allow you to freeze tougher enemies so you can get that third hit, while indirect damage effects will let you handle dangerous situations where getting off a third combo isn’t reasonable. Support skills should be stun/freeze/root/slow effects or high indirect damage effects (like a powerful grenade or a giant’s whistle). You should look for the “slows enemies on kill” affix on your tombstone: it helps for tougher packs that a single AoE won’t kill. Thunder shield, spiked shield, ice shield, and front-line shield are my personal favorites for Armadillopack, and toothpick, swift sword, seismic strike, and gold digger are my favorites for Porcupack, but your mileage may vary.Īnd, as always, No Mercy is amazing: a flat 15% damage bonus is great by itself, but it also empowers the AoE a lot. You are going to be rolling a lot to get into position, so you might as well get something extra out of the deal. I’m a fan of using Armadillopack or Porcupack with a tombstone too. “Those are red mutations for a green build!” Yeah, they are, but we’re not taking Open Wounds for the damage, we’re taking it to enable Blood Drinker, and Frenzy is going to be on a lot of the time because of how easily a tombstone triggers the multikill speed buff. While you may well be immortal, the corpses you possess are not. Immortal but crippled, your last resort is to take over bodies in order to move, explore and fight. I am a fan of Open Wounds coupled with the Blood Drinker aspect, Frenzy with Gotta Go Fast (+/- Velocity), the Indomitable aspect with Recovery, or the Cursed aspect with Alienation. Dead Cells puts you in control of a failed alchemic experiment trying to figure out what's happening on a sprawling, ever-changing and seemingly cursed Island. It’s good to take at at least one healing mutation because of this. As you can see in the video, rolling does not interrupt the combo chain, so if you kill an enemy with the second swing, roll and move to try to land that third hit on another monster.īecause of the slow nature of the tombstone, you will get hit. This means, paradoxically, that sometimes you are better served whiffing one hit in the chain to ensure you kill with the third swing. No, you’re using the tombstone because of its AoE when you kill with the final attack of the 3 hit combo. That’s fine, but those things are not why you’re using the tombstone. Other weapons have better damage or easy crit conditions or secondary effects that enable other powers or affixes. The tombstone is hands-down my favorite weapon, followed closely by the meat skewer, the nutcracker, and the rapier.
